Someone once asked me about narcissistic people and how we sound deal with them if we are in contact with one. Therefore, let us discuss narcissism and the associated personality disorder.
Narcissism - selfishness, involving a sense of entitlement, a lack of empathy, and a need for admiration, as characterizing a personality type.
This definition should come at no surprise to anyone as many of us are probably aware of these personality traits. When dealing with a 'normal' person expressing these traits establish clear boundaries with them and ensure that you are holding to those boundaries. Narcissistic people tend to think about the world from a POV (point of view) of how does it help them accomplish there goals. These people often have a severely inflated view of themselves and their abilities. In some cases you may want to cease contact altogether. Dissolution of the relationship becomes imperative when the narcissist actively uses abuand ses you, as they will continue to drain you of your resources, emotionally, financially, physically, and spiritually for as long as they are able. They excel at being able to keep you in their thrall as well.
